Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone! I’m leaving for Quigleys in a little bit. Well actually I’m leaving to go get my hair cut first, then I’m going to head up to Quigleys. Molly and the TInker start at 3 p.m. then Seelie Court takes the stage around 7 p.m. I’m not exactly sure when I’ll show up there, I do have other errands to run as well.

Tonight on my way home I found myself reliving the “Rennie Book Club” that met once last year. After running through that, I suddenly found myself playing back tons of events from when I worked at Hardees in Plano. Memories I hadn’t thoguht of in 10 years, came flooding back. It was strange, but I’m getting used to strange anymore.
When I got home, I ate dinner, and after that I finished the phone rang. It was an old friend from High School, a friend who happend to work at Hardees with me. We talked and the conversation of course turned to Hardees. At that point we talked about all of the various memories we had, me running back through the memories that had hit me on the ride home. He was amazed by how much detail I remembered and how I kept filling in. It was fun, but a bit surreal as well.
Later Gabbi and I were talking and the Book club came up too. Ya gotta love it.
I lieu of the insane weather, I do hereby suggest that the month of March be no longer called March. I propose that its new name be somethign that more accuratly reflects the true nature of the month. There for it is with great insanity that I present you with the new and improved month of “Dec-Ma-Feb-ust-ary”. This new month encorporates all of the features of the months of December, May/March, February, August, and January.
It’s just easier this way.
Happy Purim to those of you who observe the holiday.
I just happened across an entry on IMDB. I was taking a look at the entry for Dean Stockwell after seeing him on Battlestar Galactica. To my shock, I discovered a new entry at the top of the list. The entry is: “Quantum Leap: A Bold Leap Forward“. I find myself both excited and frightened by this. Reading the summary it sounds very hokey, and sequil-ish. I have always felt that the series finale ended quite well, despite leaving a lot of unanswered questions.
Tonight I finally got in touch with my buddy Tony again. It seems he was out of town last week while I was.
It turns out he went to a conference with his wife.
It turns out the conference they attended was in TN.
It turns out the conference they attended was in Nashville, TN.
It turns out the conference they attended was in the Gaylord Opreyland Resort in Nashville, TN.
Tony, and Carrie were at the conference next to the Sirsi Superconference, in the same hotel, at the same time, as I was.
They were there, and we didn’t manage to meet up. How wierd that they would both be at the same hotel as I was, at the same time.
Well, It seems I’m coming down with the plauge yet again. I swear I was fine all the week I was away at the conference. Now I return back to the good state of ILL and I am once again coughing and sneezing, and everything else. Either it’ s my house, or my building at work, or my car. I lean towards my building at work. There are others here who think there is somethign wrong in the building, and others who suffer from all sorts of odd re-occuring ailments.
We are now under a severe thunderstorm warning for most of the night. We are already getting extremly loud crashes of thunder, and ocassional flashes of lightning. The rain has also started coming down. Crazy weather… Things are just not right…
Today was the day of the Chicago Maritime Festival. Thanks to Dave I didn’t miss it. Untill we spoke last night I was certain it was on Sunday. Why I thoguht Sunday, I don’t know as it is always on Saturday.
I made it downtown by 9:30 a.m. I was a bit worried I was going to be late, but I made good time on the tollway. (Yes I drove safe) It took me a few minutes to figure out which building was the correct building, but fortunatly I noticed someone carrying a model ship so I followed him to the Latin School. While waiting for the fest to open I bumped into Frank Hui who was intown for the show. Once the fest opened I found Bounding Main and said hello. I then followed them and a massive group of shanty singers out to the front of the building where they opened the show with an “All Hands” sing.
The rest of the day progressed normally. The sound system could have used some “tweaking” as I found myself having to leave the room, floor and building at various times because of the feedback. Bounding Main’s set went pretty well, they included a couple of “new” songs that were crowd favorites. They also found a few new fans, including a young little girl who I saw clutching her very own copy of “Lost at Sea” close to her chest as she left the room. Later I found out she went and hunted down the girls and got thier autographs. I gues sshe walked right past the guys ignoring them compleetly.
After the show I followed Dave back to 88, (I REALLLY need to get the GPS unit) and on the way back we stopped off in Oakbrook (I was running out of gas, I forgot to fill up before leaving this morning) and while there we decided to grab dinner at Webber Grill. Yum…
All in all a good day. Tomorrow… I’m sleeping in!
Ok, this is insane. According to the staff, everything worked fine this past week. Today I walked in, and as I was walking up the stairs I see staff huddled over a laptop trying to figure out if it is working or not.
Fear
Panic
Doubt
So I step in, run a few tests, yeah somethign is very wrong on the network.
I went to my desk, removed my coat, and started making phone calls. It turns out our primary internet connection is down, and we have failed over to the backup. When that happens wireless connectivity is shutdown. Ugh…
Well, someone who shall remain nameless
, asked me today if I took this. I never got into RPGs. I can barely keep myself in this world as it is, gaming would be very bad… Here are my results:
